    MRC Build

since i'll be building a DNA Mini SS soon i thought before i did that i would tweak and modify the existing set up before the tear down.

i'll post here as i go along with the DNA build aswell.

first mod i tried was an easy one. i used traxxas hex #3654 to gain a little bit more width.

the width went from 7" to just out side or 7.25" not bad. hopefully i could gain a little bit more stability.

next was reconfiguaration of the esc, battery, and receiver. here's how it sits for now.

for the front i made some simple plastic plates for the upper links to hold the esc. to make room for it i also switched the front and rear axles so the tranny could face the other way.

the rear plate holds the receiver.

another mod was one that i've seen others do. i removed the upper chassis plate to shed some weight and with that goes the shock mounts. i used the mount holes that held the upper chassis plate for the shocks.

    on with the pics!!!

one thing i didn't like was the look of the body. since this one is gonna be replaced with a grappler i decided to try to change what i didn't like about it.

two slices down the sides and a cupple of button heads i brought down the hood. i little more than what i was going for but the more i see it the more i like it.

    wheelbase still sitting at 8.5"

next to go were the stock links. using 1/4 derin rod, a drill and 3mm tap i made some nice lower links that will slide on the rocks.

i went with straights front and rear, i'll save the high clearance stuff for the true comp chassis, the DNA mini ss.
